EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE (EFT)
EFT is a relatively quick and easy way to clear discordant or negative energies from an animal, or ourselves for that matter. It is often referred to as emotional acupressure, and is also called tapping. There is much information available online regarding this method. It is used in many different fields, including education and counseling.
Quite a number of years ago there was a homeless cat that I was feeding. This particular animal had one eye that was partially closed. My friend who taught me this method mentioned that I could clear the problem with EFT. I simply set the intention that I was clearing for the animal. I then tapped on the issue of the partially unopened eye with the understanding that there was something in the animal’s life that he did not want to see. By the time I had completed the tapping, which took approximately 5 minutes, the eye was completely opened and remained that way! It was an amazing experience.
FLOWER ESSENCES
There are many wonderful brands of flower essences available. I primarily work with the Bach flower essences. Dr. Bach was a physician in England at the beginning of the century. He realized that some of his patients did not heal because of certain mental or emotional issues and habitual negative ways of thinking. Dr. Bach understood that one’s personality and attitude played an important role in their state of health.
Having a love of nature even as a child, he eventually developed 38 flower essences, each designed to address different personality types and emotional issues. There is also the Rescue Remedy formula, a combination of 5 different essences to address stressful events and situations. Rescue crème can be used on the skin and contains 6 flower essences.
The Bach flower essences are not intended to replace medical treatment. They are not habit forming and will not interfere with any medical treatment or medication.
As most animal lovers know, their animal friends also have emotions. Some examples of issue that might be helped by these essences include animals who are domineering, tense and high strung, fearful, possessive or jealous. The flower essences can assist in guiding the animal back to a more balanced state. They can be highly effective for some animals, but as with any other remedy, not everything works for everyone. The length of time needed to promote change can sometimes depend on the length of duration of the current problem.
